Applying for a job in a store, a warehouse club or a restaurant looks simple, but each employer in Canada runs its own process. The portal is different, the people who review applications are different, and what happens after you click “Submit” is different too. This page brings together the guides we have written to help with that, so you can read the one that matches the job you want before you apply.
Every guide is based on the employer’s own public pages and on Government of Canada resources such as Job Bank. Each one lists its sources at the end and shows the date we last checked them. GetJobnify is not affiliated with any of these employers, does not process applications and never charges job seekers. When a guide and the employer’s site disagree, the employer’s site is the reference.
Applying to specific employers
These guides explain how hiring works at one employer: where the official job search is, what the application asks for, and what to expect afterwards. Start here if you already know where you want to work.

Working at Dollarama: roles, application process and tips
The three areas Dollarama hires for (stores, distribution centre and head office), how the store application form works and how to make a store application stronger.
A few differences are worth knowing before you choose. Costco Canada takes applications through an online careers portal linked from costco.ca, where you can search by job family or by location. Tim Hortons describes itself as primarily a franchise organization, so each restaurant is responsible for its own hiring, and the person who reads your application is usually the restaurant’s owner or management team. Dollarama has separate application paths for its stores, its distribution centre and warehouses, and its head office, and store openings are tied to a specific store.
Interviews and preparation
This guide is not tied to one company. It covers the steps that are similar everywhere: getting ready for an interview, answering common questions, the documents you may be asked for, and following up.

How to use these guides
- Read the employer guide first. It tells you which website is the real one and what the application looks like, which saves time and helps you avoid look-alike sites.
- Then pick a posting. The Find Jobs page groups the postings we list by employer and by city. Each posting has an Apply link that takes you to the employer’s official page.
- Prepare before the interview. Once you have applied, the interview guide helps you get ready, including what to bring and which questions to ask at the end.
- Confirm the details on the official posting. Pay, schedules and requirements are set by the employer and can change. Our guides do not add figures that the employer has not published.
How we keep the guides accurate
Hiring processes change: an employer may move to a new portal, rename a job family or change how it contacts candidates. When we notice a change, we update the guide and its “last verified” date instead of publishing a new version. The same approach applies to the postings themselves; you can read how we check them in How We Find and Verify Jobs.
New guides are added to the sections above automatically when they are published. If something in a guide no longer matches the employer’s site, or if there is a topic you would like us to cover, please write to contact@getjobnify.com with the address of the page and, if possible, a link to the official source.
