ABOUT THE JOB
As a Service Deli Clerk at Costco, you will prepare and package a variety of deli and ready-to-serve products such as meals, salads, party trays, rotisserie items, and take-and-bake pizzas. You’ll slice and assemble ingredients, follow Costco formulas and food safety standards, wrap and label products, stock and rotate display cases, and maintain cleanliness and sanitation across equipment and prep areas.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Slice vegetables and prepare ingredients for salads, entrees, and garnishes used in prepared foods.
- Assemble deli items such as party trays, meals, salads, and take-and-bake pizzas according to production needs.
- Prepare and cook rotisserie items and other hot deli products, following recipes and timing standards.
- Make sauces and mix ingredients for entrees and deli items using approved formulas and procedures.
- Package, wrap, and label products using an automatic wrapping machine and apply accurate product labels.
- Stock and rotate display cases to maintain freshness, presentation, and proper product dating.
- Monitor finished product to ensure department quality and consistency standards are met.
- Follow health code practices including sanitation, temperature controls, and pull-date checks.
- Restock and assemble large ingredient/supply boxes to support prep area production.
- Clean and sanitize equipment and work areas, including disassembling equipment parts as needed.
- Wash and sanitize parts using the appropriate sink system and approved cleaning methods.
- Maintain a clean deli area by sweeping, mopping, wiping, scrubbing, and managing trash and drains.
- Operate trash and cardboard compactors/balers where assigned and trained.
- Track product on hand, document production activity, and complete required sanitation checklists.
- Provide prompt and courteous member service and assist with other department tasks as needed.
