Safeway is looking for a flexible and patient-focused Relief Pharmacist (Provincial) to support its pharmacies across British Columbia, based out of Vancouver, BC. ABOUT THE JOB
As a Provincial Relief Pharmacist at Safeway, you will provide coverage across multiple Safeway pharmacies throughout British Columbia. You will step into different pharmacy teams, deliver high-quality clinical care, verify prescriptions and ensure patients receive consistent, professional service in every location you support.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work scheduled relief shifts across pharmacies in British Columbia, adapting quickly to each store’s workflow and team.
- Provide patient-centred care including medication reviews, adherence support and health risk assessments.
- Administer injections and vaccinations as permitted by provincial regulations.
- Offer clear, compassionate counseling and education to patients and caregivers on prescriptions and therapies.
- Verify, prepare and release prescriptions in accordance with pharmacy practice standards and legislation.
- Initiate and document care plans, follow up on outcomes and maintain accurate clinical records.
- Collaborate with Pharmacy Registered Technicians and Assistants to maintain safe, efficient dispensary operations.
- Support corporate pharmacy programs designed to help patients manage chronic conditions and overall health.
- Stay current with pharmacy practice guidelines, regulatory requirements and industry developments.
- Follow all Safeway policies and procedures, including OHS, Loss Prevention and quality programs.
