ABOUT THE JOB
As a Registered Pharmacy Technician at Safeway, you will use your regulated scope of practice to prepare, process and check prescriptions while working closely with pharmacists and other pharmacy team members. You’ll help maintain accuracy, patient safety and efficient workflow in a busy community pharmacy setting.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Receive and transcribe verbal prescriptions from prescribers in accordance with regulations.
- Ensure all prescriptions are complete, authentic and meet provincial requirements.
- Prepare, package and label medications, verifying accuracy and documentation.
- Process refills, transfers and third-party billing transactions.
- Check the technical accuracy of prepared prescriptions within your authorized scope.
- Assist with ordering, receiving and managing pharmacy inventory.
- Maintain accurate patient records and protect confidentiality of health information.
- Support pharmacists with workflow coordination and clinical service scheduling.
- Follow all provincial regulatory standards, pharmacy policies and safety guidelines.
