Safeway is hiring a Registered Pharmacy Technician to join its Continuing Care Pharmacy team in Calgary, AB. This Part-Time position is ideal for candidates who are detail-oriented, highly organized and committed to providing safe, accurate and professional pharmaceutical care.
ABOUT THE JOB
As a Registered Pharmacy Technician, you will work under the provincial regulatory framework to support prescription preparation, processing, compounding and verification. You will play an essential role in ensuring accurate and compliant medication handling while maintaining excellent service standards for patients, caregivers and healthcare providers.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Receive and transcribe verbal prescriptions from practitioners.
- Ensure prescriptions are complete, accurate and authentic.
- Process and prepare prescriptions according to regulations and provincial guidelines.
- Transfer prescriptions to and from other pharmacies as required.
- Accurately package and prepare prescriptions.
- Document the final check of prepared prescriptions.
- Confirm the accuracy of drug and personal health information in patient records.
- Work independently while supporting pharmacy operations as part of a fast-paced team.
WHAT YOU HAVE TO OFFER
- Completion of the Pharmacy Technician Certification.
- Active registration with the provincial college of pharmacy.
