FreshCo is hiring a dedicated and detail-focused Registered Pharmacy Technician to join its Chalo FreshCo Pharmacy in Edmonton, AB. This Part-Time role is ideal for a regulated technician who enjoys working directly with patients, supporting pharmacists, and ensuring the safe, accurate preparation of prescriptions.
ABOUT THE JOB
As a Registered Pharmacy Technician, you will play an essential role in the dispensary by performing regulated technical functions, supporting workflow, and ensuring compliance with provincial standards. You will work collaboratively with the Pharmacist to support exceptional patient care while maintaining accuracy, efficiency, and professionalism in all tasks.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform regulated pharmacy technician functions including preparing, processing, and compounding prescriptions according to legislation.
- Receive verbal prescriptions from practitioners and transfer prescriptions to other pharmacies where permitted.
- Process prescriptions and manage patient profiles with a high degree of accuracy.
- Conduct final checks on prescriptions within the technician scope of practice.
- Support inventory management, including ordering, unpacking, rotating, and stocking products.
- Assist with third-party billing, insurance adjudication, and resolving issues related to patient accounts.
- Collaborate with pharmacists and colleagues to maintain smooth dispensary workflow.
- Ensure compliance with provincial Pharmacy Regulatory standards, company policies, and safety guidelines.
