ABOUT THE JOB
The Registered Pharmacy Technician assists pharmacists with dispensing prescriptions, maintaining accurate patient records, managing inventory, and providing professional service to members. This position plays a key role in ensuring safe, efficient, and accurate pharmacy operations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist patients at the counter and retrieve, process, and fill prescriptions.
- Process insurance claims, make charge entries, process cheques, and edit charges.
- Enter and maintain prescription history and confidential patient records.
- Fill prescriptions by counting, measuring, labeling, and pricing medications under supervision.
- Complete packaging verification for prescriptions prepared by pharmacy staff.
- Alert pharmacists to potential drug interactions or patient concerns.
- Verify prescription accuracy and select appropriate substitutions when necessary.
- Prepare drug insurance claims and process invoices.
- Order, receive, stock, and rotate prescription drugs and pharmacy supplies.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant pharmacy work environment.
