ABOUT THE JOB
As a Registered Pharmacy Technician at Costco, you will play a key role in prescription preparation, patient assistance, inventory management, and pharmacy operations while working in a professional and regulated healthcare environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist patients at the counter, retrieve prescriptions, and process register transactions.
- Receive written prescriptions for pharmacists and retrieve filled prescriptions.
- Process register transactions, including cash, credit, and debit charges.
- Obtain patient medical history and maintain confidential computerized patient records.
- Input and update patient profiles and prescription information in the pharmacy system.
- Fill prescriptions by retrieving stock bottles, counting medications, labeling, and pricing prescriptions under pharmacist supervision.
- Complete packaging and verification of prescriptions previously checked for therapeutic appropriateness.
- Verify prescriptions and refill requests with physicians by phone as needed.
- Prepare and compound prescriptions according to pharmacy standards and provincial regulations.
- Handle pharmacy inventory, including ordering, receiving, labeling, and stocking prescription and over-the-counter products.
- Perform department stocking duties and maintain a clean, organized pharmacy environment.
- Follow all safety, security, and confidentiality procedures at all times.
- Assist in other warehouse or pharmacy tasks as required.
