ABOUT THE JOB
As a Registered Pharmacy Technician at Costco, you will support pharmacy operations by assisting with prescription processing, preparation, and workflow under the supervision of the pharmacist and in accordance with provincial regulations. You’ll help maintain accurate records, support inventory and billing routines, and provide professional service to members while following privacy and safety standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Receive written prescriptions and assist with processing and preparing prescriptions according to procedures and regulations.
- Enter and update prescription information in pharmacy systems accurately and confidentially.
- Prepare prescriptions by gathering stock bottles, counting/portioning medications, and labeling under required supervision.
- Package and organize prescriptions for pick-up and support workflow and bin management.
- Assist with completing documentation and records for pharmacy operations, including billing routines when applicable.
- Support pharmacists by flagging potential issues that require pharmacist review (for example: interactions or unusual requests).
- Maintain pharmacy inventory by receiving, stocking, rotating, and storing medications and supplies properly.
- Provide courteous member service at the pharmacy counter and help with over-the-counter product requests as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant pharmacy work area following safety and sanitation standards.
- Assist in other areas of the warehouse as necessary.
