Sobeys is seeking a talented Real Estate Manager, QC & ATL to join its corporate team in Montréal-Nord, QC. This role is ideal for an experienced real estate professional who enjoys leading network growth, lease negotiations and development projects across Quebec and Atlantic Canada.
ABOUT THE JOB
The Real Estate Manager, QC & ATL is responsible for managing Sobeys’ store network strategy within the region. Working closely with internal stakeholders and external partners, you will identify new opportunities, negotiate leases, manage renewals and support development projects that align with Sobeys’ long-term business objectives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and execute real estate strategies for Quebec and Atlantic Canada in line with Sobeys’ overall network plans.
- Identify, assess and recommend new store sites, relocations, expansions, conversions and closure opportunities.
- Lead negotiations for new leases, renewals, extensions, terminations and other real estate agreements.
- Collaborate with Operations, Construction, Finance, Legal and Merchandising teams to evaluate proposals and support business cases.
- Manage relationships with landlords, brokers, developers and municipal authorities.
- Conduct site visits, market research and competitive analysis to understand trade areas and customer dynamics.
- Monitor lease obligations, critical dates and occupancy costs, ensuring data accuracy in real estate systems.
- Support capital planning and budgeting for real estate projects.
- Participate in zoning, permitting and approval processes as required.
- Prepare presentation materials and recommendations for senior leadership and approval committees.
- Ensure all activities comply with company policies, legal requirements and internal controls.
