Costco is hiring a Pharmacy Clerk in Calgary, AB. This role supports daily pharmacy operations by assisting members at the counter, processing transactions, helping with prescription workflow, and keeping the department organized and well-stocked.
ABOUT THE JOB
As a Pharmacy Clerk at Costco, you will work under the supervision of the pharmacist to support prescription distribution and member service. You’ll help with register transactions, retrieve and organize prescriptions, assist with inventory and over-the-counter merchandise, and complete basic administrative tasks such as third-party claims and invoice processing. Attention to detail, confidentiality, and a strong service mindset are essential in this fast-paced pharmacy environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist members at the pharmacy counter and provide prompt, courteous service.
- Receive written prescriptions for the pharmacist and retrieve filled prescriptions for pickup.
- Process register transactions, including cash, credit/debit payments, and giving change.
- Answer phones, direct members to the correct location, and support front-counter flow.
- Help update patient profiles and enter prescription information as permitted by provincial regulations.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and follow privacy requirements at all times.
- Assist the pharmacist with filling prescriptions by bringing stock bottles, counting, pouring, restocking, labeling, and pricing under supervision and where permitted.
- Prepare third-party insurance claims, process invoices, and make accounting entries using computerized systems.
- Order, receive, and stock prescription drugs and pharmacy supplies following storage procedures.
- Receive, tag, and stock over-the-counter merchandise according to the merchandising plan.
- Create product signs and support OTC product organization and presentation.
- Maintain a clean pharmacy by sweeping, mopping, spraying, wiping, and dusting as required.
- Empty trash and operate the trash compactor and cardboard baler when assigned.
- Assist in other areas of the warehouse as required.
