ABOUT THE JOB
As a Pharmacy Clerk at Costco, you will support the pharmacist by assisting patients at the counter, retrieving filled prescriptions, processing register transactions, and helping maintain accurate records and inventory. You’ll also support prescription filling tasks under the pharmacist’s supervision (as permitted), help order and stock supplies, and follow strict safety, security, and confidentiality standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist patients at the counter by receiving written prescriptions, retrieving filled prescriptions, and providing friendly service.
- Process register transactions accurately, including cash, cheque, credit, and debit payments.
- Answer phones, direct members appropriately, and help ensure timely service.
- Support the pharmacist by entering or updating patient profile information and prescription details as permitted by provincial regulations.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and follow privacy requirements at all times.
- Assist with prescription filling tasks under the pharmacist’s supervision (e.g., bringing stock bottles, counting, pouring, labeling, pricing, restocking).
- Prepare third-party insurance claims where applicable and help process invoices and accounting entries using computerized systems.
- Order, receive, stock, and rotate prescription drugs, supplies, and over-the-counter merchandise following storage standards.
- Receive and tag products and support merchandising, including signage and display updates.
- Maintain pharmacy cleanliness by sweeping, mopping, wiping, and sanitizing work areas.
- Empty trash and operate compactors/balers where assigned and trained.
- Follow all Costco Pharmacy policies, procedures, and safety/security standards.
- Assist in other areas of the warehouse as needed.
