Costco is hiring a Certified Pharmacy Clerk to join its pharmacy team in Kitchener, Ontario. This position supports pharmacists in daily operations, prescription processing, and providing excellent member service.

ABOUT THE JOB

The Pharmacy Clerk Certified assists pharmacists in dispensing prescriptions, processing transactions, maintaining records, and ensuring accurate handling of prescription and over-the-counter products in compliance with provincial regulations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assists patients at the counter and retrieves written and filled prescriptions.
  • Processes register transactions, including cash, credit, and debit payments.
  • Provides prompt, courteous, and professional member service.
  • Updates patient records and maintains inventory using the pharmacy computer system.
  • Enters and updates prescription information as permitted by provincial regulations.
  • Assists pharmacists in preparing prescriptions by bringing stock bottles, counting, pouring, labeling, and pricing.
  • Prepares third-party insurance claims, processes invoices, and manages accounting entries.
  • Orders, receives, tags, and stocks prescription and over-the-counter drugs and supplies.
  • Maintains department cleanliness by sweeping, mopping, wiping, and dusting.
  • Operates trash compactors and cardboard balers as required.
