Costco is hiring a Pharmacy Clerk Certified in Burnaby, BC. This role supports the pharmacy team by assisting patients at the counter, processing transactions, handling prescriptions and inventory tasks, and maintaining accurate records while delivering excellent member service.
ABOUT THE JOB
As a Pharmacy Clerk Certified at Costco, you will help the pharmacist with prescription workflow, register transactions, and pharmacy merchandising. You will also update patient records and inventory, prepare insurance claims, and support a clean and organized pharmacy area while following safety and security procedures.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist patients at the counter, receive written prescriptions for the Pharmacist, and retrieve filled prescriptions.
- Process register transactions, including receiving payment, making change, and processing cheques/credit/debit charges.
- Answer phones and direct members to the correct product location.
- Support the Pharmacist by updating patient profiles and entering prescription information as permitted by provincial regulations.
- Preserve patient confidentiality and follow pharmacy standards and security procedures.
- Assist with filling prescriptions by bringing stock bottles, counting, pouring, restocking, labeling, and pricing (under the Pharmacist’s supervision and as permitted by provincial regulations).
- Prepare third-party insurance claims, process invoices, and make accounting entries using the computerized system.
- Order, receive, and stock prescription drugs and supplies; follow product storage procedures and standards.
- Order, receive, tag, and stock over-the-counter products according to merchandising plans; create product signs and perform OTC roaming.
- Clean the department (sweeping, mopping, spraying, wiping, dusting); empty trash and operate trash compactor/cardboard baler when required.
- Assist in other areas of the warehouse as necessary.
REQUIREMENTS
- Completed a pharmacy diploma at a Community College or Costco Pharmacy Clerk certification.
- Certification completed as required by province (where applicable).
- Pharmacy experience is an asset and may be preferred.
- Comfortable using computers; good math and member service skills.
PAY
- $21.00 per hour (hourly, as listed).
