Safeway is looking for a courteous and detail-oriented Pharmacy Assistant to join its Crestview Safeway Pharmacy in Winnipeg, MB. If you enjoy supporting pharmacists, helping patients and working in a clinical retail environment, this Full-Time role could be a great opportunity.
ABOUT THE JOB
As a Pharmacy Assistant at Safeway, you will help keep the dispensary running smoothly by processing prescriptions, assisting with inventory and providing friendly service to patients. You will work closely with pharmacists and other team members to ensure medications are prepared accurately and safely.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Process customer transactions and handle prescription release requests.
- Receive in-person and telephone refill requests and record deliveries.
- Understand and promote pharmacy programs and services.
- Assist with filling prescriptions, ordering, and replenishing supplies, and maintaining a clean work area.
- Support drug order creation and receiving, compounding and blister-pack assembly as permitted by scope.
- Schedule and confirm professional clinical services and patient appointments.
- Work behind the counter managing cycle counts, narcotic counts, stock returns and third-party billing as needed.
- Assist the pharmacist with dispensary tasks as permitted by applicable regulations.
- Follow all company policies, pharmacy standards and regulatory requirements.
