ABOUT THE JOB
As a Pharmacy Assistant at Safeway, you will help with prescription assembly, data entry and customer service in a busy community pharmacy. You will work closely with pharmacists and other team members to ensure prescriptions are processed accurately and patients receive timely, professional service.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Process customer transactions, including prescription pick-up and release requests.
- Receive in-person and telephone refill requests and record deliveries in the system.
- Understand and promote pharmacy programs and services to patients.
- Assist with filling prescriptions, ordering, restocking and organizing supplies, and maintaining a clean work area.
- Support drug order creation and receiving, compounding and blister-pack assembly as permitted by scope.
- Schedule and confirm professional clinical services and patient appointments.
- Work behind the counter managing cycle counts, narcotic counts, stock returns and third-party billing as needed.
- Assist the pharmacist with dispensary tasks as permitted by applicable regulations and company policies.
