ABOUT THE JOB
As a Pharmacy Assistant at Safeway, you will help pharmacists with prescription processing, customer service, inventory management and overall pharmacy workflow. You will support accurate medication preparation, maintain patient safety, organize supplies and contribute to a friendly, efficient pharmacy environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Process customer transactions, prescription pickups and prescription release requests.
- Receive, organize and record incoming deliveries and telephone refill requests.
- Prepare medications by counting tablets, labeling, packaging and assembling prescription orders.
- Maintain inventory by ordering, stocking and organizing medications and supplies.
- Assist with drug order creation, compounding and blister-pack assembly (as permitted by scope).
- Provide friendly, knowledgeable customer service at the pharmacy counter.
- Support pharmacists with administrative and routine pharmacy tasks.
- Follow all pharmacy regulations, standards and Safeway policies.
- Maintain a clean, organized and safe work area at all times.
