Safeway is looking for a patient-focused Pharmacist to join its Osborne & Kylemore Safeway Pharmacy in Winnipeg, MB. This Part-Time role is ideal for a pharmacist who enjoys clinical practice in a community setting and wants to make a meaningful impact on patients’ health.
ABOUT THE JOB
As a Pharmacist at Safeway, you will provide high-quality patient-centred care, including prescription verification, medication counselling and immunization services. You will work closely with Pharmacy Technicians, Assistants and store leadership to ensure prescriptions are processed safely, accurately and efficiently.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Demonstrate warmth, empathy and professionalism while delivering patient-centred care and clinical services.
- Verify, prepare and release prescriptions in accordance with Manitoba legislation and company policies.
- Conduct medication reviews, adherence checks and other clinical services as required.
- Administer injections and vaccines where permitted by provincial regulations.
- Provide clear counselling and education to patients and caregivers on medications, side effects and safe use.
- Develop and document care plans, follow up on outcomes and maintain accurate clinical records.
- Collaborate with Pharmacy Registered Technicians and Assistants to manage workflow and prioritize tasks.
- Participate in health and wellness programs and other professional clinics that support community health.
- Maintain current knowledge of pharmacy practice standards, regulatory requirements and industry developments.
- Follow all Safeway policies, procedures and safety standards, including OHS and Loss Prevention.
