Sobeys is hiring a Full-Time Pharmacist Provincial Relief based in Mississauga, ON. This role is ideal for a licensed pharmacist who enjoys variety, travelling to different community pharmacies and providing high-quality, patient-centred care across the province.
ABOUT THE JOB
As a Provincial Relief Pharmacist, you will provide temporary coverage at Sobeys pharmacy locations across Ontario. You will deliver clinical services, ensure safe and accurate dispensing, and support local pharmacy teams in meeting the health needs of their patients.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work shifts at multiple pharmacy locations across the province, demonstrating warmth, empathy and professionalism while acting in the patient’s best interest.
- Provide excellent patient-centred care, including counselling on medications, adherence, side effects and disease management.
- Deliver clinical services such as medication reviews, immunizations, health risk assessments and other professional programs where permitted.
- Verify prescriptions for therapeutic appropriateness and technical accuracy, ensuring compliance with all regulations and standards of practice.
- Maintain complete and accurate documentation, including care plans, progress notes and clinical records.
- Collaborate with pharmacy teams, physicians and other health-care providers to optimize patient outcomes.
- Supervise and delegate tasks to Pharmacy Technicians and Assistants in accordance with provincial requirements.
- Ensure prescriptions are prepared, checked and released safely, following company policies and quality assurance procedures.
- Stay current with changes in pharmacy legislation, clinical guidelines and industry trends.
- Adhere to all legal, regulatory and company policies, including OH&S, Loss Prevention and continuous quality improvement.
