ABOUT THE JOB
As a Pharmacist at Costco, you will provide pharmacy care by dispensing prescription medications, advising patients, and supporting safe and accurate pharmacy operations. You’ll collaborate with the pharmacy team, maintain compliance with regulations, and deliver excellent member service while helping ensure the dispensary runs efficiently and safely.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Dispense prescription medications accurately and in accordance with provincial regulations and professional standards.
- Review prescriptions for appropriateness, potential interactions, allergies, and dosage concerns.
- Provide patient counselling on medication use, side effects, and safe administration.
- Communicate with prescribers and healthcare professionals to clarify prescriptions and resolve issues.
- Supervise and support pharmacy staff to maintain safe, efficient workflow and service levels.
- Ensure accurate records, documentation, and compliance with pharmacy policies and legal requirements.
- Support immunizations and clinical services where permitted and applicable.
- Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality at all times.
- Promote medication safety practices and contribute to quality improvement in the pharmacy.
- Assist in other areas of the warehouse as necessary.
