ABOUT THE JOB
As a Pharmacist at Costco, you will provide pharmacy services that may include dispensing prescription medications, counseling patients, and supporting safe medication use in line with provincial regulations. You’ll collaborate with the pharmacy team to maintain accurate workflow, follow established standards, and deliver a positive experience for members.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Dispense prescription medications safely and accurately, applying appropriate labels and instructions.
- Review prescriptions for appropriateness, therapeutic suitability, interactions, and dosing.
- Counsel patients on proper medication use, potential side effects, and storage guidelines.
- Communicate with prescribers and other healthcare professionals as needed to support patient care.
- Support pharmacy operations by maintaining accurate records and following established procedures.
- Supervise and support pharmacy staff as required, ensuring workflow remains safe and efficient.
- Help manage medication inventory, including ordering, receiving, and proper storage practices.
- Participate in medication reviews and other pharmacy services as permitted by provincial regulations.
- Follow all privacy, safety, and regulatory requirements, including controlled substance procedures when applicable.
- Assist with additional pharmacy duties as needed to support the department.
