ABOUT THE JOB
The Optical Student assists members in selecting eyeglass frames, processes optical orders, fits eyewear for customer pickup, and supports daily operations in the optical department.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assists members in choosing eyeglass frames and optical products.
- Rings up orders and fits eyeglasses for customer pickup.
- Processes accurate payments, refunds, price changes, and credit/debit transactions.
- Completes paperwork and follows cash handling procedures.
- Adjusts eyeglasses using frame warmers and bending tools under licensed Optician supervision.
- Orders optical merchandise and supplies using computerized systems.
- Stocks merchandise and supplies following department procedures.
- Maintains accurate records for production, merchandising, and storage.
- Cleans the department by spraying, wiping, and mopping.
- Empties trash and operates trash compactor and cardboard baler.
