Costco is hiring an Optical Student in Halifax, Nova Scotia. This position supports the Optical department by assisting members with eyewear selection, processing orders, and maintaining merchandise and supplies.
ABOUT THE JOB
As an Optical Student, you will work under the supervision of licensed Opticians, helping members choose eyewear, processing optical orders, and ensuring accurate transactions while delivering excellent member service.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist members in choosing eyeglass frames and lens options.
- Ring up optical and over-the-counter merchandise.
- Receive accurate payments, make change, and process credit and debit transactions.
- Follow proper procedures for paperwork, cash handling, and performance of duties.
- Assist with fitting eyeglasses using frame warmers and bending tools under supervision.
- Order, receive, and stock optical merchandise and supplies.
- Follow department procedures for production, record keeping, and merchandising.
- Maintain cleanliness by spraying, wiping, and mopping as required.
- Operate trash compactors and cardboard balers.
- Provide prompt and courteous member service.
- Assist in other warehouse areas as necessary.
