ABOUT THE JOB
As an Optical Student at Costco, you will work under the supervision of licensed Optical professionals to assist members with frames and lenses, help process optical orders, and support daily department operations. This position is ideal for students enrolled in an optical program who want hands-on experience in a busy retail healthcare environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist members in selecting eyeglass frames and lens options based on their needs.
- Process optical orders and ensure accurate entry of prescriptions and member information.
- Support fitting and adjustments of eyewear under supervision, where permitted by provincial regulations.
- Maintain organized records, paperwork, and inventory within the Optical department.
- Stock merchandise and supplies, ensuring displays and storage areas remain orderly.
- Follow department procedures related to safety, privacy, and confidentiality.
- Provide prompt and courteous service to members picking up orders.
- Assist with cleaning and upkeep of Optical work areas and equipment.
- Communicate issues or questions to licensed Optical staff as needed.
- Assist in other areas of the warehouse as necessary.
