ABOUT THE JOB
As an Optical Student at Costco, you will assist members with frame selection, process optical orders, and support daily optical department operations. Working under the supervision of licensed optical professionals, you’ll help prepare eyewear for pick-up, manage merchandise, and ensure the department remains organized, accurate, and member-focused.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist members in choosing eyeglass frames and understanding basic product options.
- Process optical orders and prepare eyewear for customer pick-up.
- Handle over-the-counter merchandise transactions, including payments and documentation.
- Support licensed opticians by performing basic optical tasks under supervision.
- Adjust, fit, and clean eyeglasses using approved tools and equipment when appropriate.
- Stock and organize optical merchandise and supplies, ensuring accurate inventory.
- Maintain cleanliness of the optical department and follow safety procedures.
- Follow department standards for record keeping, merchandising, and product handling.
- Provide friendly, professional service to members at all times.
- Assist in other areas of the warehouse as necessary.
