Costco is hiring a Member Service Assistant in Calgary, AB. This position focuses on providing excellent member service while supporting warehouse safety, security, and entry/exit operations in a fast-paced environment.
ABOUT THE JOB
As a Member Service Assistant at Costco, you will actively greet members, verify membership cards, monitor entry and exit areas, and support warehouse safety and security procedures. This role requires strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to observe and report irregular situations while maintaining a friendly and professional attitude.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct hourly warehouse safety and security checks throughout the warehouse and perimeter.
- Identify and correct safety and security issues such as spills, trip hazards, and blocked exits.
- Complete inspection forms and report findings to the duty manager.
- Attend warehouse safety meetings as required.
- Welcome members entering the warehouse, make eye contact, greet them, and verify membership cards.
- Maintain clean and orderly entrance and exit areas.
- Use a handheld counter to track member entry and report half-hourly counts.
- Monitor warehouse access and report arrival of armored transport vehicles.
- Observe armored deposit pickups discreetly while following security protocols.
- Check backpacks, lunch pails, briefcases, strollers, and similar items at exit.
- Verify member receipts for accuracy and validity and compare items to receipts.
- Provide prompt assistance for corrections or concerns and thank members upon exit.
- Direct members to product and service locations and assist with loading or cart support.
- Observe exit doors from a personal vehicle when required and report door status via radio.
- Drive warehouse perimeter in a personal vehicle for security checks when assigned.
- Report suspicious activity to the duty manager and contact police if necessary.
- Assist in other areas of the warehouse as required.
