ABOUT THE JOB
As a Member Service Assistant at Costco, you will welcome members, verify membership cards, help keep entry/exit areas organized and support warehouse safety checks. You’ll also assist at the exit by checking receipts and supporting members with directions, loading assistance and general questions, while following all security and procedural standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Greet members as they enter, verify membership cards and help maintain accurate entry counts.
- Keep the entrance and exit areas clean, organized and member-ready throughout the day.
- Conduct routine warehouse safety and security checks, including walking the warehouse and perimeter.
- Identify and report safety or security issues (spills, trip hazards, blocked exits) and help correct them when possible.
- Complete inspection forms and communicate findings to supervisors or the duty manager.
- Support warehouse safety meetings and follow all Costco procedures during shift activities.
- Monitor access points and report the arrival of armored transport or security-sensitive activity as required.
- Assist with exit door procedures by checking member receipts and matching items to purchases.
- Provide quick assistance for member questions or corrections and maintain a professional, courteous approach.
- Direct members to product and service locations and help with loading/assistance when needed.
- Support front-end flow as needed (e.g., assisting with carts) while maintaining awareness of security procedures.
- Follow all safety, privacy and security guidelines when performing checks and interacting with members.
- Report suspicious activity to management and contact appropriate support if required by procedure.
- Assist in other areas of the warehouse as needed.
