ABOUT THE JOB
As a Meat Wrapper at Safeway, you will support the meat department by wrapping, labeling, pricing and organizing meat products according to company standards. You will help ensure freshness, accuracy and cleanliness while providing friendly service to shoppers. Training is provided for all equipment and procedures.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Wrap, label, weigh and price meat products accurately.
- Stock meat cases and displays, rotating products to ensure freshness.
- Follow all food safety policies, sanitation guidelines and health regulations.
- Assist customers with questions about products, cuts and availability.
- Prepare in-store packaged items such as ground meat, steaks, roasts and specialty cuts.
- Operate meat-department equipment safely, including scales and wrapping machines.
- Receive, sort and store meat deliveries following Safeway procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized work area and ensure proper storage temperatures.
- Support the meat team with other duties as needed.
