Sobeys is hiring a Full-Time Meat Cutter to join its store in Calgary, AB (Signal Hill location). This role is ideal for someone with experience handling meat products, providing excellent customer service and working in a fast-paced retail environment.
ABOUT THE JOB
The Meat Cutter prepares meat products for customer purchases while maintaining high standards of freshness, safety and presentation. This role involves customer interaction, product preparation, merchandising and supporting the day-to-day operations of the meat department.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Deliver friendly, professional customer service to meet shopper needs.
- Prepare meat products and package items for sale.
- Maintain clean, sanitized work areas and equipment.
- Rotate products to ensure freshness and reduce shrink.
- Process customer special orders and product requests.
- Follow proper meat-cutting procedures and department standards.
- Follow all health, safety and CFIA (Canadian Food Inspection Agency) regulations.
- Assist with merchandising and setting up meat displays.
- Support training of new teammates where required.
- Complete administrative tasks related to inventory and ordering.
- Collaborate with the Meat Manager or Department Clerk as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
