ABOUT THE JOB
As a Meat Assistant at Costco, you will help prepare meat products for sale by wrapping, labeling, and stocking display cases. You’ll also support daily department routines such as cleaning, sanitation, and assisting with basic equipment tasks while providing courteous service to members.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Wrap and label meat products using department procedures and wrapping equipment.
- Stock and rotate products in display cases to maintain freshness and presentation standards.
- Set up and maintain display cases, ensuring product is properly arranged and priced.
- Assist with basic product handling, including moving items using carts/racks safely.
- Operate department equipment as required (for example: meat grinder support tasks) following safety procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation throughout the day, including tools, equipment, and work areas.
- Follow food safety standards, including temperature controls and proper handling procedures.
- Remove out-of-date or damaged product and complete required department checks as directed.
- Provide prompt, courteous member service and respond to basic questions.
- Assist in other areas of the warehouse as necessary.
