Costco is seeking a hardworking and detail-oriented Meat Assistant to support its meat department in Brampton, ON. This role involves wrapping and labeling meat products, stocking display cases and helping ensure the department meets Costco’s high standards for freshness, safety and member service.
ABOUT THE JOB
As a Meat Assistant, you will handle packaged meat products, operate wrapping equipment, load meat into grinders and assist with general sanitation throughout the day. You will help maintain product rotation, follow safety procedures and ensure the department is clean, organized and ready for members.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Inspect and reassemble sanitized equipment and prepare the department for daily operations.
- Rework display cases and rotate products to maintain freshness and presentation.
- Transfer styro trays and meat racks from storage to the wrapping area and prepare products using the automatic wrapping machine.
- Set labeler according to product type and pricing, print labels and apply them accurately to packages.
- Load wrapped and labeled meat trays onto carts and stock display cases safely through sliding doors or movable racks.
- Operate the meat grinder, load meat into the machine and check fat content of each batch following departmental standards.
- Perform daily cleaning and sanitation of work areas, equipment and tools to comply with health and safety regulations.
- Carry out routine maintenance for machinery, equipment and implements when needed.
- Provide prompt and courteous member service throughout the department.
- Support other warehouse areas as required.
