Costco is hiring an outgoing and goal-driven Marketing Road Representative in Burnaby, BC. This role focuses on meeting potential members, promoting Costco membership benefits and supporting membership sign-ups through community outreach, business canvassing and on-site events.
ABOUT THE JOB
As a Marketing Road Representative at Costco, you will engage with current and prospective members to grow membership and support warehouse sales. You’ll canvas local businesses, meet with decision-makers, organize and attend sign-up events and clearly communicate the value of Costco membership—especially Executive Membership and the Costco credit card program—while maintaining accurate logs and following safety and department procedures.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Canvas businesses in the warehouse sales area in person and by phone to promote Costco membership and build relationships.
- Meet with business owners and assess opportunities to determine Costco products and services that benefit potential members.
- Use persuasive communication skills to encourage membership sign-ups and support sales growth.
- Meet with large businesses to discuss employee membership on-site and coordinate membership sign-up events.
- Schedule and manage on-site sign-up events and collect required funds and paperwork when applicable.
- Explain Costco membership benefits, including Executive Membership and the Costco credit card program, to new and existing members.
- Work toward membership goals that may include targets for Executive Membership and credit card sign-ups.
- Use a personal vehicle for travel within the assigned territory (as required).
- Maintain a daily activity log and track sign-ups, appointments, calls and incentive programs.
- Submit clear mileage records and required expense receipts for reimbursement.
- Promote positive community relations by attending and participating in local community events and trade shows.
- Support the Marketing Manager with the implementation of marketing plans and outreach initiatives.
- Provide prompt and courteous member service, responding to concerns with tact, discretion and problem-solving skills.
- Assist at the Membership Counter as needed and support internal marketing programs.
- Work evenings and weekends as required based on event schedules and business needs.
- Follow all safety, security and departmental procedures and assist in other warehouse areas as needed.
