ABOUT THE JOB
As a Marketing Representative at Costco, you will meet with current and prospective members and connect with local businesses to increase membership sign-ups and support warehouse sales. You’ll promote the value of Costco membership (including Executive Membership and applicable credit card programs), help coordinate on-site membership events, and maintain accurate activity records. This role may involve working evenings and weekends and requires the use of a personal vehicle to support outreach activities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Engage with members and prospective members to encourage membership sign-ups and support warehouse sales.
- Canvas local businesses in person and by phone to promote membership and build ongoing relationships.
- Meet with business owners to assess needs and recommend Costco products and services that may benefit their teams.
- Coordinate and support on-site employee membership sign-up events and help manage event logistics.
- Promote the benefits of Costco membership, including Executive Membership and applicable credit card programs.
- Work toward membership revenue goals and support department targets related to new sign-ups.
- Use persuasive communication skills and a professional approach when presenting membership options.
- Maintain a daily activity log tracking sign-ups, appointments, calls, and incentive program results.
- Submit clear mileage records and expense receipts for reimbursement where applicable.
- Represent Costco at local community events and trade shows to support outreach initiatives.
- Support the Marketing Manager in implementing and improving the local marketing plan.
- Provide prompt, courteous member service and respond to questions using strong problem-solving skills and discretion.
- Assist at the Membership Counter as needed and support inside marketing programs when assigned.
- Work evenings and weekends as required by business needs and event schedules.
- Follow safety, security, and departmental procedures at all times.
- Assist in other areas of the warehouse as required.
