Costco is hiring a Maintenance Assistant to support facility operations at its Laval, Quebec warehouse. This role is responsible for cleaning, basic repairs, preventive maintenance, and ensuring a safe, clean, and well-maintained work environment.
ABOUT THE JOB
The Maintenance Assistant provides janitorial services and general upkeep across multiple areas of the warehouse, including the Optical Lab. The position follows Costco’s safety, security, and operational standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Checks daily schedules for routine maintenance tasks.
- Cleans floors, offices, break rooms, restrooms, production floors, and facility areas.
- Changes scrubber water and performs equipment upkeep.
- Empties trash from designated areas and operates trash and cardboard compactors.
- Follows location procedures and performance standards.
- Responds quickly to cleaning and maintenance supply needs.
- Cleans lighting fixtures, changes light bulbs, and washes windows.
- Vacuums rafters periodically.
- Assists with grounds maintenance such as leaf blowing and snow removal.
- Performs minor repairs, painting, and concrete repairs.
- Monitors and restocks cleaning supplies as needed.
- Follows Optical Lab and general safety and security procedures.
- Provides courteous service to members, employees, and suppliers.
- Understands and operates the internal maintenance system.
- Manages store inventory related to maintenance supplies.
- Performs internal and external purchases when required.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Valid Driver’s License required.
- Janitorial or maintenance experience preferred.
- Mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity required.
