Costco is hiring a Maintenance Assistant for its warehouse in Kitchener, Ontario. This role is responsible for cleaning, janitorial services, and general upkeep of the Optical Lab and facility areas, ensuring a safe and well-maintained environment for employees and members.
ABOUT THE JOB
The Maintenance Assistant plays a key role in maintaining cleanliness, safety, and operational standards throughout the warehouse and Optical Lab. This position involves routine cleaning tasks, waste management, minor maintenance duties, and support across different facility areas.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform routine cleaning tasks in offices, break rooms, restrooms, production floors, and other facility areas.
- Change scrubber water frequently to maintain cleanliness standards.
- Empty trash from designated areas and operate trash and cardboard compactors.
- Respond promptly to cleaning supply needs and restock as required.
- Clean and maintain light fixtures, replace bulbs, wash windows and upper walls.
- Vacuum rafters and assist with grounds maintenance when needed.
- Assist with snow removal, leaf blowing, and general outdoor maintenance.
- Monitor and restock cleaning supplies, placing merchandise in appropriate departments.
- Follow Optical Lab and general safety and security procedures.
- Operate and update the maintenance system (Interal).
- Perform internal and external purchases when required.
- Assist in other areas of the lab or warehouse as necessary.
