Costco is hiring a Maintenance Assistant in Edmonton, Alberta. This role helps keep the warehouse clean, safe, and well maintained by completing daily cleaning routines, handling waste and recycling, and supporting basic maintenance tasks across the facility.
ABOUT THE JOB
As a Maintenance Assistant at Costco, you will support the overall cleanliness and upkeep of the warehouse, including public areas, staff areas, and back-of-house spaces. You’ll perform routine cleaning tasks, use cleaning equipment safely, assist with minor maintenance and repairs when needed, and help ensure safety standards are met throughout the building.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Complete daily cleaning and maintenance routines across warehouse areas, including restrooms and common spaces.
- Empty trash and recycling, operate trash compactors/cardboard balers as required, and keep disposal areas organized.
- Clean floors, washrooms, break areas, and other high-traffic zones to maintain cleanliness standards.
- Use cleaning tools and equipment safely, including scrubbers, vacuums, and related supplies.
- Respond to spills and safety hazards promptly and place warning signage when needed.
- Support minor maintenance tasks such as basic repairs, light bulb changes, and general upkeep (as assigned).
- Restock cleaning supplies and notify leadership when inventory is low.
- Follow safety and security procedures while working throughout the facility.
- Provide courteous assistance to members and employees when approached.
- Assist in other areas of the warehouse as necessary.
