ABOUT THE JOB
As a Maintenance Assistant at Costco, you will support the Optical Lab and other areas of the facility by performing routine cleaning, basic repairs and general upkeep. You will follow company safety standards, respond quickly to spills or issues on site and help maintain a professional, well-kept environment throughout the warehouse.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review the daily schedule and complete assigned cleaning and maintenance tasks on time.
- Clean offices, break rooms, restrooms, production floors and other areas of the facility.
- Use scrubbers and other equipment to wash floors, changing water frequently to maintain hygiene.
- Empty trash and recycling from designated areas and operate trash and cardboard compactors safely.
- Follow location procedures and safety standards when performing janitorial and maintenance duties.
- Respond promptly to spills or hazards and ensure affected areas are cleaned and secured.
- Dust and clean light fixtures, wash windows, upper walls and ceilings, and vacuum rafters when required.
- Assist with grounds maintenance such as blowing leaves, picking up litter and helping with snow removal.
- Support minor repair work, including painting and floor touch-ups throughout the lab.
- Monitor cleaning supplies and restock as needed; receive and place merchandise in the correct department.
- Follow Optical Lab and general safety procedures, including the proper use of chemicals and equipment.
- Provide courteous customer service to members, employees and suppliers when interacting on site.
- Understand and follow the maintenance system and schedule for the facility.
- Assist with store inventory and support internal and external building inspections.
