Costco is hiring a Loss Prevention Clerk to help protect company assets, ensure a safe environment, and support loss prevention operations at its Laval, Quebec warehouse.
ABOUT THE JOB
The Loss Prevention Clerk monitors warehouse activity to identify safety and security risks, investigates incidents, and works closely with management and law enforcement when required.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Walks the warehouse and perimeter up to 8 hours a day to monitor safety and security concerns.
- Observes, detects, prevents, and apprehends shoplifters within company guidelines.
- Documents incidents and reports internal dishonesty to management for investigation.
- Prepares reports for internal use and potential prosecution.
- Maintains evidence collected during investigations.
- Testifies in court concerning theft investigations when required.
- Identifies and reports risk reduction opportunities within warehouse operations.
- Ensures compliance with Costco policies and applicable laws.
- Communicates with other Loss Prevention Clerks and departments regarding current security threats.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Valid Loss Prevention License as required by provincial regulations.
- Experience in loss prevention preferred.
- Strong observation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of Criminal Code of Canada related to theft and fraud is an asset.
