ABOUT THE JOB
As a Loss Prevention Clerk at Costco, you will help protect company assets and support a safe shopping environment for members and employees. You’ll observe activity throughout the warehouse, report concerns, assist with investigations as directed, and follow security policies and relevant laws while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monitor warehouse activity and walk the sales floor and perimeter to observe safety and security conditions.
- Identify, document, and report potential loss prevention issues, suspicious behavior, or safety hazards.
- Support investigations by gathering observations, maintaining notes, and following approved procedures.
- Communicate incidents and concerns to management and follow escalation protocols as required.
- Assist with shrink reduction efforts by identifying opportunities and supporting prevention strategies.
- Maintain incident records and reports in accordance with policies and confidentiality requirements.
- Cooperate with local law enforcement and testify in court if required as part of assigned cases.
- Help ensure compliance with security policies, procedures, and applicable laws.
- Train or share best practices with team members when directed, supporting a culture of safety.
- Assist in other areas of the warehouse as necessary.
