Safeway is hiring a detail-oriented Listed Pharmacy Technician to join its Osborne & Kylemore Safeway Pharmacy in Winnipeg, MB. If you are registered with the Manitoba College of Pharmacy and enjoy working in a fast-paced dispensary environment, this Part-Time role could be a great opportunity.
ABOUT THE JOB
As a Listed Pharmacy Technician at Safeway, you will work within your regulated scope of practice to support pharmacists with prescription accuracy, dispensing, device education and inventory management. You will help ensure that prescriptions meet all legal requirements and that patients receive safe, accurate medications and information.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review prescription information for accuracy and compliance with federal and provincial law.
- Perform final checks on prepared prescriptions as allowed under Listed Pharmacy Technician practices.
- Receive and transcribe verbal prescriptions from practitioners in accordance with regulations.
- Provide instructions to patients on how to properly operate medical devices (without interpreting clinical results).
- Assist with processing refills, transfers and billing transactions.
- Help manage drug inventory, including ordering, receiving and organizing stock.
- Perform necessary tasks to support pharmacists and other pharmacy team members.
- Confirm the accuracy of drug and personal health information in patient records and retrieve data as required.
- Follow all standards of practice and company policies related to pharmacy operations and patient safety.
