ABOUT THE JOB
As a Food Service Assistant at Costco’s Food Court, you will help prepare and serve food and beverages, stock ingredients and supplies, operate basic food equipment, and maintain clean and sanitary kitchen and dining areas. You’ll follow established production and cash handling procedures, support self-serve areas, and ensure food safety standards are met throughout the shift.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare hot food items and bake products such as pizzas; slice and place baked items in warmers.
- Steam hot dogs and buns and operate deep fryers following safety procedures.
- Ring up sales, collect payment, make change, and follow cash handling procedures.
- Take pizza orders at the counter and by phone; assemble orders and present items to members.
- Use tongs and safe handling practices when serving hot foods.
- Dispense desserts and drinks (e.g., frozen yogurt, smoothies, lattes) and maintain dispensing machines.
- Clean, sanitize, service, and refill food and beverage machines as required.
- Maintain self-serve areas including pop and condiment stations; bus, clean, and sanitize tables.
- Sweep and mop floors, empty trash, and keep the kitchen and dining areas clean and organized.
- Clean and sanitize equipment, work surfaces, utensils, pans, counters, and floors.
- Take garbage to the trash compactor and operate the compactor where assigned and trained.
- Pull ingredients and supplies from the warehouse; stock shelves, coolers, and freezers as needed.
- Stage ingredients for production and rotate stock to meet food safety and expiry standards.
- Monitor sanitation, temperatures, and product rotation to comply with health code requirements.
- Provide prompt and courteous member service and support Food Court operations throughout the day.
- Assist in other areas of the warehouse as required.
