ABOUT THE JOB
As a Deli Clerk at Costco, you will prepare, package and label a variety of deli products such as salads, entrees, party trays and rotisserie items. You will assemble take-and-bake pizzas, portion ingredients, monitor cooking processes and ensure department cleanliness and sanitation standards are met throughout the day.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Slice vegetables for salads and entrees and garnish prepared foods according to Costco formulas and production diagrams.
- Assemble party trays, meals, pizzas and deli items, ensuring accurate portioning and presentation.
- Prepare and cook rotisserie chickens, ribs and baked goods; monitor oven and rotisserie processes for quality and consistency.
- Package, wrap, seal, weigh and label products using an automated wrapping machine and approved procedures.
- Stock and rotate deli products in display cases, checking freshness, temperatures and pull dates.
- Follow health code requirements for sanitation, food handling, temperature control and product rotation.
- Restock ingredients and supplies in prep areas and maintain organized workstations.
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks by cleaning and sanitizing equipment and tools as required.
- Wash and sanitize parts using a 3-compartment sink or approved soaking methods; keep cleaning records when required.
- Maintain department cleanliness by sweeping, mopping, wiping and scrubbing; empty trash and operate the trash compactor and cardboard baler when needed.
- Count product on hand, record production needs and document daily production, time and temperature logs.
- Complete sanitation checklists after final clean-up and follow all safety and security procedures.
- Provide prompt, courteous member service when interacting with members.
- Assist with other deli or warehouse tasks as needed.
