Sobeys is hiring a Full-Time Clerk HMR and ALC to join its store in Halifax, NS. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a mix of customer service, food preparation, merchandising and supporting daily store operations.
ABOUT THE JOB
The Clerk HMR and ALC is responsible for carrying out a wide range of duties in a professional, timely and accurate manner. You will assist customers, prepare products, handle inventory, maintain product presentation and contribute to a positive environment for both employees and shoppers.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Follow all Food Safety Protocols, Standard Operating Procedures, Health and Safety policies and corporate guidelines.
- Utilize required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Follow inventory control procedures for ordering, receiving and stock rotation.
- Prepare and present customer meal orders.
- Assist in department merchandising and product display setup.
- Prepare hot and cold food items in accordance with food safety standards.
- Increase sales by actively promoting products.
- Participate in the training of junior staff.
- Process department paperwork and support inventory control activities.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment according to company standards.
- Provide excellent customer service and respond to customer needs.
- Other duties as required.
