ABOUT THE JOB
As a Cashier Assistant at Costco, you will help process member purchases, support cashiers during transactions, and maintain cleanliness and organization at the front end. This role requires attention to detail, teamwork, and a strong focus on member service.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist cashiers by packing and transferring items from the conveyor belt.
- Confirm packing preferences and answer basic member questions.
- Retrieve items left behind and assist with merchandise recovery.
- Help load items into carts when required.
- Transfer items from the belt to the packing area or flatbed carts.
- Maintain cleanliness of registers and front-end areas.
- Clean spills and remove trip hazards promptly.
- Remove debris and trash from packing areas.
- Perform opening and closing duties such as returning products and collecting paperwork.
- Operate trash compactors and cardboard balers when assigned.
- Support cashier teams during peak periods and promotions.
- Provide prompt and courteous service to Costco members.
- Assist in other areas of the warehouse as needed.
