Costco is hiring a Cashier Assistant in Edmonton, Alberta. This is a customer-facing role where you’ll support the front-end team by assisting cashiers, helping members, and keeping checkout areas running smoothly in a busy warehouse environment.
ABOUT THE JOB
As a Cashier Assistant at Costco, you will help pack and move items, retrieve carts and merchandise when needed, and support excellent member service at the registers. You’ll also help maintain a clean, organized checkout area and follow safety procedures while working closely with cashiers and supervisors.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist cashiers by packing and transferring items efficiently during checkout.
- Retrieve carts and return items to the sales floor when directed.
- Help manage front-end traffic flow and keep register areas organized.
- Support member service by answering basic questions and directing members to the right area.
- Assist with merchandising tasks near the front end, including restocking impulse items when needed.
- Maintain cleanliness around registers, including removing cardboard and keeping walkways clear.
- Follow safety procedures, including proper lifting techniques and hazard awareness.
- Assist with closing/opening routines such as tidying lanes and preparing supplies.
- Work as part of a team to keep checkout moving quickly during peak periods.
- Assist in other areas of the warehouse as necessary.
