ABOUT THE JOB
As a Cashier Assistant at Costco, you’ll support cashiers by packing member purchases, handling cart and item organization, and helping keep the front-end area clean and efficient. You may also assist with related tasks like retrieving carts, helping members, and supporting promotions while following safety and customer service standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Pack member purchases into boxes and transfer items to a separate cart for the cashier.
- Assist with cart retrieval and help maintain an organized front-end area.
- Keep the checkout lane moving by providing quick support to cashiers during peak times.
- Help members with basic questions and provide friendly, courteous service.
- Maintain cleanliness at the front end by clearing debris, collecting packaging materials, and wiping surfaces as needed.
- Handle merchandise carefully and follow procedures for performance, quality, and safety.
- Assist with returning unwanted items and maintaining orderly product flow near checkout.
- Support front-end promotions and direct members to the right area when needed.
- Follow all department and warehouse safety procedures while using carts and handling items.
- Assist in other areas of the warehouse as necessary.
