ABOUT THE JOB
As a Bakery Wrapper at Costco, you will support daily bakery operations by removing product from baking containers, finishing items (such as garnishing or glazing) according to formulas, wrapping and labeling baked goods, and stocking the sales floor. You’ll help maintain quality by weighing and inspecting product, rotating stock, monitoring pull dates, and keeping the wrapping and sales areas clean and safe.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Remove baked goods from baking containers and prepare items for wrapping and display.
- Garnish, drizzle icing, or apply glazes to baked goods according to Costco formulas and department procedures.
- Wrap and package bakery products by hand or using a wrapping machine.
- Assemble pre-cut cardboard boxes and packaging for bakery items.
- Weigh and label products accurately; inspect quality and remove broken, underweight, or defective items.
- Move product using wheeled racks and keep product flow organized through the department.
- Stock and restock bakery displays; rotate inventory to maintain freshness and proper dating.
- Monitor pull dates and follow health code standards related to sanitation and food safety.
- Provide prompt and courteous member service and help direct members to bakery items and service locations.
- Maintain current knowledge of bakery products to better assist members.
- Keep wrapping and bakery sales areas clean, clear of debris, and compliant with safety procedures.
- Assist with other bakery duties as needed and support overall department workflow.
- Assist in other areas of the warehouse as required.
