ABOUT THE JOB
As a Bakery Wrapper at Costco, you will garnish, wrap, label and stock bakery products for sale on the floor. You’ll package baked goods by hand or using a wrapping machine, assemble cardboard boxes, rotate stock by pull dates and maintain a clean, organized bakery sales area with a focus on quality and consistency.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Remove bakery items from baking containers and prepare products for display and sale.
- Garnish products and apply icing or glaze (including drizzles or sprays) according to Costco formulas and bakery procedures.
- Wrap and package baked goods by hand or with a wrapping machine, ensuring secure and clean presentation.
- Assemble pre-cut cardboard boxes and packaging materials for bakery items.
- Weigh and label products accurately; remove broken, underweight, heavy or defective items to maintain quality standards.
- Move product using wheeled racks and transport items safely within the department.
- Restock the bakery sales area as needed and rotate product by pull dates to maintain freshness.
- Monitor basic food safety requirements and comply with health code standards.
- Provide prompt and courteous member service and help direct members to bakery products and services.
- Keep wrapping and sales areas clean and clear of debris while following safety and security procedures.
- Assist with other bakery duties as needed and support other warehouse areas when required.
