ABOUT THE JOB
As a Baker at Costco, you will prepare and bake a high volume of bakery products following Costco formulas. You’ll measure and mix large batches, operate bakery equipment (including industrial mixers and dough machines), monitor ovens, and support the full production process from raw dough to finished baked goods. This position also requires attention to sanitation, temperature controls, and consistent product quality.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Measure, assemble, and mix large quantities of ingredients according to Costco formulas and production standards.
- Adjust recipes and batch sizes using calculators to meet daily production needs.
- Operate bakery equipment to mix and prepare products, including dough rollers, depositors, and crust machines.
- Use industrial power mixers to prepare batter, icings, frostings, and fillings for baked goods.
- Roll, cut, and shape dough for breads and pastries and move product to proofing/raising areas.
- Bake products in large ovens, monitor bake cycles, and transfer finished items to cooling racks.
- Feed dough into automated dough machinery when required.
- Monitor sanitation, temperatures, pull dates, and compliance with food safety standards and health code.
- Follow department production procedures to ensure consistent quality and yield.
- Provide prompt and courteous member service when interacting with members in the bakery area.
- Assist with other bakery duties as needed and support overall department workflow.
- Assist in other areas of the warehouse as required.
