ABOUT THE JOB
As a Baker at Costco, you will prepare and bake a variety of bakery products following Costco formulas and quality standards. You’ll work with large ingredient containers, operate commercial bakery equipment (including industrial mixers and dough-processing machines), monitor ovens, and support day-to-day bakery production while maintaining cleanliness and food safety.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Measure and assemble large quantities of ingredients according to established Costco formulas.
- Adjust recipes as needed using calculations to ensure consistent results.
- Operate bakery equipment to mix, prepare, and process products (e.g., mixers, dough rollers, depositors, and related machines).
- Prepare batters, frostings, and fillings for baked goods using commercial equipment.
- Roll, cut, and shape dough for breads and pastries, then move product through proofing/raising stages.
- Bake products in large-volume ovens, monitor bake quality, and remove finished items at the correct time.
- Transfer baked goods to cooling racks and feed dough into automated machines where required.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary work area and follow food handling procedures at all times.
- Follow safety, health, and security policies and support consistent production standards.
- Provide prompt, courteous member service and assist with other bakery or warehouse tasks as needed.
